At high noon (When the cowboy dies)

I wrote lyrics to my instrumental piece "High Noon" from 2012.

At high noon (when the cowboy dies)
***********

cowboy
with a six string
just a cowboy
making music

whistling
in the wind
walking
to the grave

not a hero of the day
just a villain to slay
when the thunder strikes
when the end comes

at high noon
when the eagle cries

at high noon
when the cowboy dies

in the wind
in the rain
in the thunder
in the lightning

the clock it ticks
the feet they drags
the time it comes
the time it ends

there is no tears
there is no glory
there is no camera
there is no sense

just whistling
just dying
just pain
just life

coming to an end
like reverse birth
that ends up in silence

what was alive
doomed to die
from the first step
from the first scream

a life time spent being afraid
bargaining and fighting to live one more day
ending just as surely as a the sun will stop shining one day

cowboy
with a six string
just a cowboy
making music

whistling
in the wind
walking
to the grave

at high noon
when the eagle cries

at high noon
when the cowboy dies

in the wind
in the rain
in the thunder
in the lightning

the time it stops
no more ticks on the clock

what was
is no more

as something new
is painfully being born

in this world where we suffer

in this world where we whistle

like the cowboy who is no more

at high noon

who knows why

who knows the mind

of God
